The depression in the South-west Bay of Bengal is located around 680km away from Trincomalee coast, to the east of Sri Lanka (located approximately 8.1N, 86.6E) and it is likely to further intensify and move north-westward, towards Southern India. 

Under the influence of the above system strong winds at times and heavy showers are expected in the Northern, Eastern and North-central provinces, during next few days (until 02nd December),according to Department of Meterology.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, Eastern and North-central provinces. Fairly heavy falls (more than 75 mm) can be expected at some places.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces after 2.00 p.m.
