Five students from the University of Kelaniya were arrested yesterday following a complaint filed by a female student alleging that she was subjected to severe ragging by them.

The students, fur femals and a male, were arrested by Kiribathgoda Police, acting on the complaint.

The complaint states that the first year female student was also verbally abused with filthy language and threatened by the suspects for wearing long trousers. The seniors had insisted that there was a rule banning female students from wearing long trousers.
