The Election Commission will reconvene on November 27 to discuss key issues surrounding the upcoming Local Government and Provincial Council elections.
This will be the commission's first meeting since the conclusion of the parliamentary elections.
A court order for the Local Government Election has already been issued, and the commission’s primary focus will be addressing matters related to this directive. Additionally, the financial allocations required for both elections are expected to be included in the Vote on Account, which will be presented to Parliament in December.
However, no final decision has been made regarding the dates of the polls, and this issue is expected to be a major item on the agenda during the meeting.
The Election Commission has also urged political parties that have not yet submitted their National List MP nominees to do so promptly.
As of November 17, several political parties have already submitted their nominees, which have been gazetted by the commission.
