Sri Lanka’s new Cabinet will be sworn in today at 10:00 AM, at a ceremony to be held at the President's Office. The event will be presided over by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, with both Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers taking their oaths.
The President's Media Division said that the ceremony will mark the formal induction of the new Cabinet. Meanwhile, the inaugural session of the 10th Parliament will begin on November 21st at 10:00 AM. During this session, a new Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Deputy Chairman of Committees will be appointed.
Due to the lack of designated seating, Members of Parliament will be free to sit wherever they prefer during the session. Following the appointment of the new Speaker, MPs will take their oaths before him. The Parliament will then adjourn for the afternoon, with President Dissanayake scheduled to present the new government's policy statement at 3:00 PM.
The 10th Parliament will include over 175 first-time MPs.
