Suspended UNP parliamentarian Palitha Thewarapperuma claimed that he did not assault anyone in the Parliamentary Chamber during the recent brawl between the MPs.
If he attacked someone, they would have ended up in a surgical ward, not in the Accident ward, Thewarapperuma said on Facebook.
He also slammed the 'Joint Opposition' and said that they were trying to control the proceedings in the Parliament.
Parliament today recommended to suspend Thewarapperuma and UPFA MP Prasanna Ranaweera from parliament for one week, effective from tomorrow.
The clash took place on Tuesday when Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka was speaking on the reduction of security for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
