Indictment was served to State Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Palitha Range Bandara by Colombo High Court over an incident of financial fraud.
In 2002, Bandara had allegedly accepted Rs 5.4 million from an individual named Dinesh Rathnayake, after promising to give the permit of a Mitsubishi Jeep in five years. However, he had allegedly failed to deliver the permit as promised.
High Court Judge AAR Heyiyanthudawa ordered Range Bandara's fingerprints to be recorded at the court police post and fixed the trial for September 6.
