The hijacker who took control of the EgyptAir Flight MS181 and forced it to land in Cyprus has allowed woman and children to leave.

Reporters at the scene say that a bus has arrived to take the passengers and some passengers did disembark.

The domestic flight from Alexandria to Cairo diverted to Larnaca Airport in Cyprus by a hijacker who threatened the pilot with a bomb, officials said.

Meanwhile, Cyprus foreign ministry Secretary General told French TV that the hijacker is yet to make demands.
