Power breakdowns were reported from several areas yesterday despite assurances by the CEB and the Power and Renewable Energy Ministry that no power cuts will take place.
Unannounced power cuts have been the daily norm in many parts of the country since the power was said to have been completely restored on March 18.
Serious confusion was created yesterday by the CEB when it published a power breakdown timetable, which it withdrew within a short while.
The timetable was published on its website without obtaining permission, the CEB officials said. Furthermore, they said that no power cut will be necessary. Due to the rains received during the last two days, the hydropower generation could be increased, reducing the pressure on the CEB, officials also said.
However, power breakdowns were reported from several parts of the country yesterday as well.
