President Maithripala Sirisena has offered condolences for the victims of the suicide bombing of Lahore last night.

My condolences are with the loved ones of the victims of the Lahore attack. South Asia must unite to eliminate terrorism in the region." Sirisena said on Twitter a short while ago.

The bomb blast targeted Pakistan Christians who were celebrating Easter Sunday. At least 69 people, mostly women and children, have died in the blast.

A Taliban faction claimed responsibility for the attack.
