37 MPs of Joint Opposition handed over a no-confidence motion to Speaker against the Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake.

MPs said the measure was taken due to mismanagement of economy of the country.

This is the second no-confidence motion filed against the Finance Minister. The Joint Opposition filed their first no-confidence motion against Karunanayake in late 2015.
