Eight Indians who were arrested recently on suspected involvement in an alleged kidney racket were remanded till April 1 by the Colombo Magistrate's Court.
They had been in detention since their arrest.
They have wounds suggesting that they have been subjected to kidney removal surgery. However, the JMO reports on them have not yet been submitted to court.
The Colombo Crimes Division told the Magistrate that the eight Indians do not have either visas or passports. The CCD are conducting investigations.
