National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa and six others are expected to appear in the Colombo Magistrate's Court today over a complaint filed by the Cinnamon Gardens Police.
The complaint was filed regarding a protest in Colombo against the arrival of UN Human Rights Chief Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein early last month. The seven NFF members are alleged to have caused hardship to the public by blocking the roads and using loudspeakers with no prior approval.
Jayantha Samaraweera, Weerakumara Disanayake, Piyasiri Wijeyanayake, Mohammed Muzammil, Roger Seneviratne are among others who are to appear before court.
