Despite the pledge by Power and Renewable Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya to supply electricity uninterrupted from today, several areas in across the country are experiencing power cuts this morning.

Some areas around Mahara, Padukka and Piliyandala were among those which experienced power cuts despite the promise by the Minister.

Siyambalapitiya made this pledge following the resumption of electricity production at Norochcholai last evening.

The country has been experiencing extended power cuts since last Sunday, when the whole island was crippled by a complete blackout for several hours.
