President Maithripala Sirisena ordered Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya not to leave the country on a pre-planned private trip, political sources said.

Accordingly, the President has said that it will be irresponsible to leave the country at a time of a power crisis.

However, the Minister had already planned to skip the trip due to the crisis, sources also said.
