Needing 150 to win, they chased it down with four wickets to spare.
Earlier in the day, Royal started the day trailing STC's first innings score by 70. They declared at 328 for 9, with STC leading only by 22. Pasindu Sooriyabandara made an epic 124.
STC were bundled out for just 127 in their second innings, with Royal's Himesh Ramanayake taking 4 for 64.
Malith Kariyawasam top scored with 38 not out in Royal response as they chased down the target in 31 overs.
