Former MP Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera filed a bail application through a motion a short while ago.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris issued notice to the Attorney General to appear in court for the consideration of the application tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Dhammaloka Thera has been granted permission to attend the funeral of the late Asgiriya Mahanayake Galagama Sri Attadassi Thera.

Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera was remanded till March 17 on the charge of possessing an elephant calf illegally.
