Southern Provincial Council Fisheries Minister D.V. Upul who surrendered to police today morning, was released on a Rs. 50,000 surety bail by Tissamaharama Magistrate Courts.

He was arrested over allegedly assaulting a resident of Lunugamwehera at Debarawewa President’s College premises on 5th March.
