Sri Lanka Navy apprehended two individuals in Madugal area in Jaffna, while attempting to smuggle 6.94 kgs of gold to India.

The suspects who were disguised as fishermen, were arrested on a tip off. They were aged 34 and 45.

The suspects and the stock of gold were handed over to the custom officials of Jaffna for onward legal action.
