The Cabinet meeting held today to discuss the question of government loans ended inconclusively, SLFP General Secretary Minister Duminda Dissanayake told media.

Accordingly, no progress was made on taking a decision on the matter. However, the Cabinet discussed the economic situation of the country in general.

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake recently said that the government has uncovered previously unknown details of loans obtained by the present government. He said that the government was not aware of the situation even when the budget proposals were being prepared.
