Trinity College, Kandy, and Zahira College, Kurunegala, have offered places for the child in Kuliyapitiya who was denied a school due to HIV/AIDS rumors, his mother told the BBC.
"Trinity Kandy & Kurunagela Zahira college has offered a place for wrongly accused HIV boy, help offered from all over according to Mother" BBC Sandeshaya reporter Azzam Ameen said on Twitter.
Some past pupils took the initiative in making the proposal to the Trinity College administration in taking this decision.
The child was denied a school in Kuliyapitiya due to protests by other parents who claim the child is infected with HIV. However, medical reports have confirmed that the child is HIV negative.
Meanwhile, his mother filed a Fundamental Rights petition yesterday, seeking a school within two miles of her residence.
The case of the child was covered in foreign media as well, most notably the BBC.
