Six Indian nationals alleged to be involved in selling kidneys were arrested in Colombo for visa rule violations, adding a new twist to the alleged kidney racket which is said to be in operation in India and Sri Lanka.
They were arrested with cut marks in their stomachs, police said.
The group is said to have included individuals engaged in professions such as tailoring and driving.
The alleged kidney racket came to limelight after media reports in India which said such an unlawful operation was being conducted by a group of Indians, involving Sri Lankan doctors.
