Hatton Magistrate Prasad Liyanage issued an arrest warrant on Uva Provincial Council Minister, Ceylon Workers Congress Senior Vice President Senthil Thondaman today.
He was summoned to the court regarding an alleged obstruction of the vehicle of the then Deputy Minister of National Languages and Social Integration Palani Digambaram in 2014.
The warrant was issued after Thondaman was failed to appear before the courts today for the magisterial inquiry.
Although his lawyer produced a medical report on behalf of him, Magistrate rejected it and issued a warrant stating that Thondaman had never appeared before the court regarding the case.
