Two suspected LTTE inmates in the Anuradhapura Prison, who launched a hunger strike demanding them to be charged or sent to rehabilitation, ended their fast today.

The two prisoners, detained under the PTA over alleged links to the LTTE, commenced the hunger strike several days ago.

The inmates decided to end the strike due to assurances given to expedite legal procedure against them..

Meanwhile the hunger strike launched by 13 inmates of the Magazine Prison in Colombo is still ongoing.
