Former MP Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera today filed a Fundamental Rights petition with the Supreme Court seeking an injunction order against his possible arrest by the CID under the Public Properties Act.
Meanwhile, he also demanded a compensation of Rs 25 million from the respondents.
He named the Director of CID, the IGP, Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne and the AG as respondents.
Dhammaloka Thera was recently named a suspect by the Attorney General over the case of the possession of an unregistered baby elephant.
However, he claims that he was the victim of an attempt to tarnish his personal image, for which he is seeking damages.
