Sri Lanka Cricket President and Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala said that TNL was awarded telecast rights of the Asia Cup by the host country Bangladesh.

He was answering to a question raised by MP Wimal Weerawansa in Parliament yesterday on the awarding of telecast rights to TNL, owned by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's brother.

Sri Lankan cricket fans raised questions of poor video quality and poor coverage in TNL following the announcement of this decision.
