Sicille Kotelawela, wife of businessman Lalith Kotelawala, was remanded till April 27 by the Colombo High Court.
She was brought to the court for the Golden Key case today. Her lawyers filed an appeal, arguing that she was not an Executive Director of the Golden Key Company.
Furthermore, her lawyers said that she was out of the country since there was no conducive environment for her to return.
However, the AG opposed giving bail to Kotelawala, pointing out that she has absconded the High Court for four years.
The High Court fixed the hearing for April 27 and remanded Kotelawala.
The case involves the misappropriation of over Rs 7 billion deposited in the Golden Key Credit Company.
