The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court on Thursday denied bail to a man who was arrested along with a former LTTE militant last year.

Police arrested the former LTTE militant K Krishnakumar (39) and N Rajendran (44) along with R Sasikumar (25) at Uchipuli check post in July last and allegedly seized 75 cyanide capsules, 300 grams of cyanide, communication gadgets and foreign currencies from them.

Saying that a case was registered against him under various sections including Passport Act, 1967 and Foreigners Act, 1946, the petitioner Rajendran claimed that he was an Indian and not a Sri Lankan national as claimed by the police and he has his residence at Thillai Nachiamman Kudiyiruppu in Ramnad district. He claimed that he was a fisherman and was not involved in the alleged offence.
