The Jathika Hela Urumaya today urged the government to rethink the Economic and Technology Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) agreement with India, saying that it appears to be advantageous to India.
In a media release, JHU spokesman Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe pointed out that opening up the service sector was dangerous for the country.
The ETCA agreement should be discussed within the country with the active engagement of professionals, the JHU Spokesman also said.
Entering into agreements with foreign countries in an arbitrary manner could lead to unrest in the country, the JHU further maintained.
