The Sri Lanka-Japan Friendship Bridge was opened for traffic after protesters who had blocked the road this morning moved out temporarily.

They suspended their protest expecting a solution for their grievances from the authorities.

The residents of the area protested last evening and this morning, alleging that they were evicted from their lands by the UDA.
