Ravana Balaya Convener Ittakande Saddhatissa Thera, Sihala Ravaya Chairman Akmeemana Dayarathana Thera and two other monks who surrendered to Homagama Police yesterday were remanded till today by the Homagama Magistrate.

They were wanted over the recent protest near the Homagama Magistrate's Court and turned themselves in yesterday.

A violent protest broke out over the decision to remand the Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera on January 26 by the Homagama Magistrate.

The Magistrate on January 27 ordered those responsible for the protest to be arrested. Several individuals were arrested over the next few days by Homagama Police and several monks turned themselves in.
