Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu were arrested near Thalaimannar by Sri Lanka Navy last night, for allegedly poaching in Sri Lankan waters.

12 fishermen and two trawlers were seized. They had been fishing near Katchatheevu, northwest of Thalaimannar.

Arrested were handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources for further action, the Navy reported.
