A tense situation erupted in the Northern Provincial Council yesterday following a verbal clash between Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran and Chairman C.V.K. Sivagnanam.

The arguement broke out over disagreements on the committee appointed to come up with proposals for the new constitution and also regarding the conduct of the provincial Minister of Agriculture.

A 19 member committee was appointed by the provincial council to consider proposals for the new constitution.

Meanwhile, the councilors passed a resolution against the Minister of Agriculture at the session yesterday.
