The Buddhist Affairs Department has taken steps to install the Seenigama Devalaya with CCTV cameras.

This decision was taken considering a request made by the Trusteeship Board of the Devalaya.

The seals of two large till boxes in the Devalaya were found broken recently, which prompted the Trusteeship Board to make the request. Seenigama Devalaya has five such large till boxes.

The 'Joint Opposition' recently held a coconut dashing ritual against the FCID at the Devalaya. UPFA MP Dinesh Gunawardena was pick-pocketed while he was at the Devalaya for the ritual.
