Additional police forces have been deployed in Homagama in anticipation of Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera to court.

Several roads have been closed in the area and the courts have been declared off limits to the general public. Only those who are required to be present for legal matters are allowed inside the court today.

Gnanasara Thera is in remand custody over several charges including contempt of court. He was remanded on January 26. A large protest took place on that day against the decision to remand him.

Several people who have been arrested in connection with the protest are also to be produced before the court today.
