Cabinet Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare S.B.Dissanayake stated that he was disappointed about the remanding of Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who had a bright future as a public servant as well as a politician.
Releasing a media statement, Dissanayake pointed out that holding a position in a private company while being a public servant is illegal and put the blame on the 'elders' around, who should have advised him.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the second son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was remanded over the investigations into the Carlton Sports Network. He is an officer of the Sri Lanka Navy. The police have claimed that he was the Chairman and the main decision maker in the Carlton Sports Network.
Dissanayake maintained that Yoshitha Rajapaksa is someone who has a bright future not only as a public servant but also as a politician.
He added that the police officers have a responsibility to ensure the investigations and court procedures were completed soon.
