Shan Wijayalal de Silva, the Chief Minister of Southern Province has been released on bail by the Galle Magistrate’s Court today.

An arrest warrant was issued on Chief Minister because he failed to appear before the Court when a case against him was taken up for hearing at the Galle Magistrate’s Court on 3rd February.

A case was filed against Chief Minister and two others on charges of violating election laws, by distributing leaflets with the intention of influencing postal voters during the presidential election in 2015.
