Lasith Malinga will captain the Sri Lankan team during the T-20 World Cup and Asia Cup, Sri Lanka Cricket President Thilanga Sumathipala said.

Angelo Mathews will be the vice captain of the team during these tournaments.

This move was announced during a media briefing which was held today at Sri Lanka Cricket. The newly appointed national coach Graham Ford also took part in the media briefing.
