Nishamalee Ranasinghe, wife of the late Sumith Prasanna Jayawardena, today filed a writ petition with the Court of Appeal, requesting the court to order the IGP to arrest the suspects over her husband's death.

The Attorney General and the IGP have been named respondents in the writ petition.

The Embilipitiya Additional Magistrate on January 27 ordered the arrest of all suspected police personnel regarding the death of a youth in the area following a clash early last month.

However, the police have not yet made any arrest over the incident.
