A cab which was traveling towards Galle from Matara fell to the sea off the coast of Unawatuna early this morning.

The driver, who was the only occupant in the cab at the moment, escaped with only slight injuries.

He explained that the vehicle skidded off the road, when he tried to avoid a vehicle arriving from the opposite direction.

Several months ago, a Sri Lanka Transport Board bus fell to the sea at the same location.
