Democratic Party Leader, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka will join with United National Party (UNP), political sources say.

General Secretary of UNP, Kabir Hashim has invited Fonseka to join the party.

The matter will be discussed in Central Committee meeting on 2nd February, Democratic Party Secretary Gaya Basnayake stated.

Furthermore, Fonseka is to be appointed to the parliament from the national list of UNP. He will be appointed as the UNP organizer in Kelaniya as well, political sources reported.
