Former UPFA MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena was released on bail by Colombo High Court today.

Colombo High Court judge Manilal Vaidyathilaka released him on a cash bail of Rs one million and two sureties of Rs 20 million each, after considering a revision application filed by Gunawardena.

Gunawardena was arrested by the CID on May 11 on allegedly misusing 23 vehicles of the Presidential Secretariat. He was in remand custody from that date, and repeated bail applications were rejected by the courts.
