DIG U.K. Dissanayake was further remanded till September 30 by the Vavuniya Magistrate on allegedly aiding a treasure hunt.

He avoided arrest for a few days before turning himself in on September 19.

Several people including three police officers were already in custody for the alleged incident, which is said to have occurred in Vavuniya.
