Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) founding leader Rohana Wijeweera's family has been allowed to stay at the naval quarters for another six months on President Maithripala Sirisena's directive.
Therefore, the family will be allowed to stay in the navy quarters until March 31.
They had been asked to vacate the quarters by October 1 this year.
The Wijeweera family had been staying in the navy quarters at Trincomalee and Welisara from the early 1990s.
