Police launched an operation to arrest UNP Western Provincial Council Member Senaka Damayantha over an alleged assault which occurred last evening.

An employee of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board was admitted to the Panadura Police following the alleged assault which is said to have happened in Katubedda, Moratuwa.

The NWSDB employee told police that he had avoided an accident. However the PC member had been enraged at overtaking him, and had allegedly assaulted the victim.
