Manjula Weerakoon, the suspect who was in remand custody for allegedly verbally abusing and attempting to assault a Russian diplomat recently at a supermarket car park in Colombo was further remanded till September 21 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage today.

The victim, the first witness in the case, did not appear in court today. Therefore the identification parade which was scheduled to be held today was fixed for September 21.

The suspect was arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) after his anticipatory bail application was rejected by court recently.
