Nava Sama Samaja Party leader Dr. Wickramabahu Karunaratne regreted that the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Investigation on Sri Lanka (OISL) report has recommended a hybrid court rather than an international investigation.
Speaking at a press conference today, the veteran NSSP leader said that the nature of human rights violations warranted an international investigation.
He also said that this decision was a rejection of the pro-democracy movement in the country which brought forth the change at the January 8 Presidential Election.
The OISL report which was released yesterday in Geneva recommended a hybrid tribunal with the participation of international and domestic experts to look into the alleged human rights violations.
