Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said today that an individual named Dematagoda Chaminda was being questioned on the shooting of supporters of Ravi Karunanayake in the Bloemendhal area on July 31 during an election campaign.

Speaking to media today, Gunasekara said that Chaminda is the main suspect of the shooting.

The individual, who is in prison, is thought to be the mastermind of the shooting.

Two people died and several others were injured at the shooting.
