The turmoil within the National Democratic Front (NDF) over its National List nominations escalated today (20) as a committee was appointed to investigate allegations surrounding the appointment of Ravi Karunanayake as a National List MP. 

During a special discussion held at the Flower Road office in Colombo 07, chaired by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, stakeholders expressed concerns over the appointment, labelling it illegal and a breach of trust within the alliance. 

The newly formed committee includes: 

• Lawyer Kumar Dunusinghe
• Lawyer Indika Weragoda
• Withanage
• Yasas de Silva (appointed as committee secretary)

The committee has been tasked with conducting an independent investigation and submitting a report to UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe within three weeks. The findings will also be presented to the UNP Working Committee for further review and action.
