Former DIG Vass Gunawardena was rushed to the hospital following a sudden illness at the Colombo High Court today.

He was brought to the court for the proceedings of the Mohomad Shiyam murder case this morning. He complained of chest pains and was immediately taken to hospital.

Vass Gunawardena was granted bail in the Mohamed Shiyam murder case, but is in remand custody over a separate case against him.
