Singapore celebrates its 50th national day today. In 1965, it was removed from the Malaysian Federation to an uncertain future. However, the father of modern Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, led the country 'from the third world to the first'. This scene, shared by the country's Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam on his facebook page, shows the joy of the younder generation in marking #SG50.

The Colombo High Court today fixed dates for the Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra murder case against 13 accused including former UPFA Parliamentarian Duminda Silva. Premachandra's daughter, Western Provincial Counsilor and UNFGG Candidate Hirunika Premachandra also presented in the Court premises on Thursday (06).

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake visited Colombo National Hospital to look into the condition of his supporters who were injured due to a gun fire attack this morning. 

The incident happened at Bloemendhal road, Colombo. One women died from the injuries and 11 others are undergoing treatments at Colombo National Hospital at the moment.
